2011 Monthly Calendar
Sunday
morning schedule change . . . Beginning January 8, 2012 we will be making an adjustment in our Sunday
morning schedule. 8:30am – 9:30am 1st Worship
9:45am – 10:45am (new) Sunday school
11:00am – 12:00pm (new) 2nd
Worship
Membership Classes Offered .
. . Classes will begin on Sunday, January
15th and will meet for six weeks ending on February 19th. We will meet at 9:45am
during the Sunday school time. Anticipate joining the church on February 26th. We will study some basic Christian
theology, Methodist history and valuable information about Pilgrim UMC. Contact pastor Ken with any questions or if you are
interested in joining. (Note: UMC Discipline ¶246.2 & ¶248 require
that a person shall be a professing member of the local church to be eligible to vote at a called church conference. The church
conference is where official decisions of vision and leadership are made and where voting on building expansion will take
place. Also, most administrative committees in the lo-cal church have professing member-ship requirements.)
Losing Weight With Jesus Weight Loss Program… starting Monday night
from 5:30 pm- 6:30pm in the chapel. Have you tried weight loss program after weight loss program and just can't keep those
pounds off? Is it a never ending battle? Come join Weight Loss with Jesus. We will be losing that weight with JESUS help.
Anyone is welcome to join; cost is free. Bring a notebook and a bible and an open heart to receive God's blessing through
this weight loss program. If you need more info Pam Williams.
Trustees Seeking Volunteers…

Carrie’s Card Class ...If you enjoy stamping, paper crafting, card making, scrapbooking, snacking,
socializing, or just getting away for a few hours, you will enjoy Carrie’s Card Class. You are invited to
join us on the 3rd Saturday of the each month, from 1-4 pm, in the lounge here at Pilgrim, for a
time of fun and fellowship. There is a minimal cost, and it is recommended that you bring your own scissors and adhesive.

by the Tuesday before class. RSVPs are needed to make sure there are enough materials ready for class, and also to make
sure that card class is indeed on that Saturday.

HOUSE meet on the second Tuesday night of each month at 6:30 pm. All House leaders and
administrative chairs. The PASTOR PARISH
COMMITTEE meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. MEN FOR JESUS Men of all ages meet for breakfast and program on the 3rd
Saturday of each month. (Will not meet July & August) Breakfast begins at 8:00 am. Service projects are
done throughout the year. ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP For family, caretakers, and friends of people with dementia. We offer support and encouragement to each other
on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. See the monthly

Lenten Small Groups are coming!
Sign-up begin February 5th
Pastor and bestselling author Jim Cymbala shows us how to welcome God’s Spirit
in a way that can invigorate our church and infuse a fresh sense of His power in our life. Beginning the week of February 26th, 2012, we will begin having a 6 week small group study leading to Easter.
This year our study is “When God’s Spirit Moves” by Jim Cymbala. There will be about 10 small groups
to choose from, varying in day and time. Please be in prayer as to where you will plug in. You don’t
want to miss this study. Sign-ups will begin Sunday, February 5, 2012 and the book cost is $8.00. Contact Vicky

Valentine’s "Beach
Party" Banquet...
Friday, February 10th, 6:15pm. Throw on your summer attire and enjoy a grilled burger, hot dog, or bbq chicken
along with potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and sweet corn. We will begin to eat at 6:30pm. For dessert we have hot fudge
sundaes or watermelon. Bring your lawn chairs to sit around the bonfire, play some beach volleyball or watch some try to limbo.
Cost is $11 per person. Sign up begins Sun., Jan. 29th and ends Wed., Feb. 8th.
(bring a sweater/sweatshirt in case the sun goes under – we will be in the gym) This event is being brought to you by
the YABS Group.
Sunday Evening Movie Night…..The Men for Jesus will be sponsoring a late afternoon/early evening
movie event the second Sunday of each month beginning Sunday, February 12. Movies will be shown in the Sanctuary at 4:30pm.

Piano Player Needed …We are looking for someone to play with the Praise Band for February and March. If you are interested, please contact

Snow Tubing at Snow Snake Mountain… on
March 3rd from 10 am to noon! Cost is $12 per person. Restrictions are that each person must be at least 36" tall and

form. Please return the release form and your payment to Monte or Tara Malek no later than February
11th. We must have at least 30 people attending to secure this date and price. If you have questions or concerns, you can
contact the Malek's.
Zumba... $40.00 for 10 sessions or $5.00 per session.
Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 - 9:30am . It’s
great exercise and lots of fun. Give it a try...you will love it! Contact Darcy Hallenbeck with questions.

on Saturday Nights… If you are feeling led by the spirit to give your testimony
to the teens at TAC please call Stuart Hazle. This is an awesome opportunity to witness to the teens in our community.

Giving... (A convenient, consistent way to
help our church grow) Enjoy the convenience! Our church offers electronic giving, which allows you to make donations on a scheduled,
automatic basis. If you are writing checks and preparing envelopes every week, you will especially appreciate electronic giving.
